Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is used to improve and solve issues caused by cavities and missing or damaged teeth. Some kinds of dental conditions can have serious effects on oral health and the function of the teeth. These conditions can ultimately lead to chewing and speaking problems, aesthetic concerns, and problems that impact an individualā€™s day-to-day life. Fortunately, Dr. Matthew Vaccaro and our experienced team offer a full array of procedures designed to restore the teeth and improve both function and appearance.

Our selection of restorative dentistry treatments includes the options listed below. If you would like additional information, or if you are ready to schedule an appointment, please contact Vaccaro Aesthetic and Family Dentistry today.

Dental Implant Restorations

Do you have missing teeth? If so, dental implants offer a restorative option that can create results that mimic the strength, form, and function of natural teeth so closely that you may forget the original teeth were ever lost. A dental implant is a titanium post anchored to the jawbone that serves as an artificial tooth root. Dr. Vaccaro provides dental implant restorations to complete the process, which involves the creation of a custom dental crown securely affixed to an implant abutment to provide an effective alternative to traditional dentures that can enhance the health, function, and appearance of your smile. Most people donā€™t know that anĀ  ā€œimplantā€ is actually three pieces. The fixture that is implanted into the bone, the abutment that screws into the fixture, and then the crown that is cemented over the abutment. With the use of CERECĀ® technology, Dr. Vaccaro is often able to make the implant abutment and crown right here in the office.

CERECĀ® Same-Day Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are customized tooth restorations designed to treat a heavily damaged tooth by reinforcing its strength, protecting it from further deterioration, and enhancing its appearance with natural-looking results. Dr. Vaccaro offers state-of-the-art CERECĀ® dental crowns at our practice, which can be completely manufactured and placed in a single appointment. This makes the treatment process more convenient for patients since there is no need for temporary crowns or an extensive waiting period before the final crown is ready for placement.

CERECĀ® Same-Day Dental Onlays

An onlay is a large porcelain restoration that is often used to replace broken, missing, or decayed tooth structure. An onlay is cemented to the tooth and is an ideal restoration to use when the size of a traditional filling gets too large to satisfactorily restore proper strength and function. Onlays are used as an alternative to a porcelain crown when we want to be more conservative and save as much healthy tooth structure as we can.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges offer an alternative to both dental implants and traditional dentures for patients who have missing teeth. This option can be ideal for individuals with one or more teeth that are missing in the same area. The large gap between the existing teeth can be quite literally ā€œbridgedā€ with custom-designed porcelainĀ  teeth. The replacement teeth are cemented permanently in place using dental crowns on the teeth that are on opposite sides of the space. This ultimately produces a very stable result that enhances dental function and aesthetics. There are several different types of dental bridges available, and our dentist can talk with you about the options that are best for your individual needs and goals.

Composite Restorations and Tooth-Colored Fillings

Filling cavities is one of the most commonly performed dental treatments, and the standards for these procedures have advanced significantly over the years. Instead of metallic-looking fillings that are prominently noticeable on the teeth, Dr. Vaccaro uses composite material for these treatments. A composite, tooth-colored resin is a stronger way to fill the cavity because it is bonded to the tooth, not just packed into the hole left by the cavity, and it is able to blend in with the toothā€™s original color to create a more natural (and virtually unnoticeable) appearance. In some cases, composite restorations can be utilized to repair an injured tooth with natural-looking results.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

A full mouth reconstruction, also known as ā€œfull mouth rehabilitation,ā€ can help patients who suffer from several different concerns that affect oral health, function, and the appearance of their smile. Full mouth reconstruction involves a customized treatment plan that includes a selection of options to address many common conditions, including missing or damaged teeth, stains and discoloration, teeth misalignment, gum disease, TMJ Disorder, and many other functional and cosmetic issues. A full mouth reconstruction treatment plan is completely based on options agreed upon by you and Dr. Vaccaro, and can be performed in a series of staged procedures, depending on the extent of treatment. Common options that can be part of a full mouth reconstruction procedure include:

Dr. Vaccaro will provide a thorough oral evaluation, complete an Advanced Records appointment, and come up with an overall treatment plan. You will then discuss Dr. Vaccaroā€™s findings and talk about the options that offer the ideal solution to fit your budget and expectations.
