Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry options can address a wide range of concerns you may be having with the aesthetic condition of your teeth. If you have any hesitation about undergoing cosmetic dentistry treatment, there is good news: Dr. Matthew Vaccaro offers a complimentary cosmetic consultation to all patients, regardless of the procedure you are considering. With advanced smile simulation software, you can see the potential effects of certain treatments before any procedures are performed, which takes much of the guesswork out of how your smile may appear once treatment is complete. Here at Vaccaro Aesthetic and Family Dentistry, you can essentially “try on” your new smile beforehand and see what a difference it makes.

Artistry & Science of Cosmetic Dentistry

The mouth is a complex system, and all aspects of it must be considered when building a smile, including the teeth, muscles of mastication, joints (TMJ), nerves, and soft tissues. Smiling, chewing, speaking, breathing, and even sleeping are affected by how these different components of a smile work together. Occlusion and balancing the bite is crucial after any cosmetic procedure, and we use a high-tech computer program called T-Scan® to ensure the teeth and associated systems function optimally together.

Before beginning any cosmetic dentistry procedure, patients will go through an advanced records appointment, so treatment is tailored specifically to their needs. Dr. Vaccaro has been working with a dedicated ceramist for more than 15 years. Together, using photographs and our advanced records appointment, we custom-build smiles with each patient’s facial features and overall look in mind.

Porcelain Veneers

If you are concerned about how chips, gaps, discolorations, or even mild misalignment issues are affecting the look of your smile, porcelain veneers may be the ideal option for your needs. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-designed tooth restorations that are securely affixed over the front and sides of affected teeth. These popular treatments are made to look like natural teeth and to provide a virtually seamless blend with surrounding teeth, ultimately renewing the appearance of your smile with results that can last decades. Oftentimes, the results can make you appear younger by giving back the length and symmetry you’ve lost over time.

Teeth Whitening

Even teeth that are healthy and straight can often use a boost. Everyday living, as well as the aging process, can take a toll on teeth, and your pearly whites may not be as bright as you’d like. With professional teeth whitening, you can have teeth that are several shades whiter in a short amount of time.

We offer in-office teeth whitening, or you can opt for our custom trays for at-home whitening. In-office procedures typically take about one hour to complete and involve the application of a professional-grade bleaching solution to the teeth. The whitening agents in the solution are then activated by a special light, which helps oxygenate the enamel and dentin and reduce signs of discoloration and stains, giving the teeth a whiter appearance. The results are virtually instantaneous, and can have a positive effect on overall smile aesthetics.

For individuals who would rather lighten the shade of their teeth on their own schedule, our custom take-home whitening trays offer an alternative to in-office whitening. These options may take a bit longer to produce optimal results; however, they contain stronger ingredients than many of the at-home whitening kits available at your local supermarket or drugstore. Whichever option you choose, the end result is typically the same: a whiter, more youthful-looking smile!

How Much Does Teeth Whitening Cost?

The cost of teeth whitening usually ranges between $150 to $500 at our practice. The price of teeth whitening is different among individuals based on whether they opt for an in-office whitening treatment, an at-home kit, or both of those options. Once your teeth whitening treatment plan is created during the consultation, we can calculate a total cost estimate and talk with you about our payment options. Our practice accepts many major forms of payment, including financing plans available to qualified applicants through CareCredit®. We will be happy to explore your payment options with you and help you find the one that works best with your budget.

Clear Braces – Invisalign® and SureSmile®

Considering ways to straighten your teeth and correct common orthodontic concerns without the need for noticeable braces and wires? Invisalign® is a revolutionary treatment designed to help adults and adolescents alike improve teeth misalignment and mild to moderate bite irregularities in the most discreet way possible. This treatment utilizes customized aligners that are made of a removable, translucent plastic material that is virtually undetectable on the teeth. We use our advanced digital scanner to make models and design treatment plans, so there are no messy, uncomfortable impressions necessary.

In addition to Invisalign®, Dr. Vaccaro offers another exceptional option that works in a very similar way. SureSmile® clear aligners can be an ideal treatment for the correction of mild to moderate orthodontic conditions. The SureSmile® aligner system is one of the latest treatments available that involves removable, virtually invisible orthodontic appliances rather than wires or brackets to give the teeth a straighter appearance.

Cosmetic Restorations

Sometimes, giving you a beautiful smile is about more than just aesthetics—restoring function and dental health may be necessary as well. Dr. Vaccaro believes that functionality and aesthetics go hand-in-hand. If your teeth are not working together correctly, chances are your smile doesn’t look as good as it could. If that is the case, he might suggest the following restorative treatments:

Dental Implants

Missing teeth affect the way your smile looks and the way your teeth work together. They can impact the bite as well as your ability to chew properly, which can lead to more problems in your mouth, including additional tooth loss. Dental implants are designed to look and function the same way that natural teeth do, and ultimately provide an advanced alternative to traditional dentures or bridges.

Dental Crowns

Whether you have a tooth that needs to be repaired or simply covered up, dental crowns are a common fix. With brand-new CEREC® Primescan technology, you can get your dental crown in just one appointment.

Laser Gum Recontouring

Even and symmetrically shaped gums complement a smile more than you may realize. Laser gum therapy is a non-surgical technique that can enhance the look of your teeth by reshaping the gums. For example, if your teeth appear too short, we can recontour the gums to frame your smile and make your teeth appear longer. Laser gum therapy can also treat an uneven gum line. Results are often best when combined with veneers and crowns. With laser therapy, the gums can be rejuvenated in a much less invasive way, ultimately minimizing recovery time and reducing discomfort following the procedure.
