Dr. Vaccaro’s Personal Commitment to You and Your Smile
“My lifelong interest in science, combined with my desire to help people, led me to dentistry. Through the course of my education, helping others has been a central goal. In my practice today, giving people sometimes life-changing results is the most rewarding part of what I do. The work I did in college, dental school, and my post-graduate residency at Morristown Medical Center gave me the solid foundation that I need to provide the kind of quality care my patients expect, and allows me to meet my personal and professional goals.
I have been able to improve upon my abilities through countless hours of continuing education. Most recently I completed the training program at the prestigious Dawson Academy. This program is a two-year, multi-level training for experienced doctors who want to focus on complex treatment plans and full mouth rehabilitation.
We focus on providing our patients with a balanced bite so the systems (teeth, muscles, nerves, and soft tissue) can work in harmony. One of the greatest benefits of working in this practice is the availability of the best equipment and most modern technology being used in dentistry today. The combination of my skills and these advancements ultimately lead to constantly improving care for my patients.”
Dr. Vaccaro’s Commitment to Eliminating Dental Phobias
“It is my hope to give each patient long lasting dentistry in a comfortable and relaxed setting. One of my best qualities is my ability to relate to my patients, understand their specific issues that may cause anxiety, and interact and care for them in a light, relaxed chairside manner. It is much easier for patients to return to the practice when they are comfortable and know that their dentist cares about them.
I even offer a sedation dentistry option for patients who cannot overcome their dental fears. A trained dental-specific anesthesiologist is available to help comfort you before treatment and bring you back once the treatments are completed.”
Dr. Vaccaro’s Commitment to Treating Patients Like Members of His Own Family
“I routinely recommend treatment as if my patients are members of my family.
Today’s advancements in science tell us that there are more links between systemic and oral health. It is therefore important for me to relate these connections and issues specific to each patient during routine exams. I listen carefully and take a thorough history, so treatments can be tailored to prevent disease.”
Dr. Vaccaro has served as an Attending Dentist at Morristown Medical Center since 2001 and teaches the residents each year in practice management, cosmetics, and restorative dentistry using the CEREC® machine. His educational history includes:

Dr. Vaccaro was honored with two awards in dental school for Implant Restorations and Fixed Prosthodontics. Also, with the fields of cosmetic and restorative dentistry changing so rapidly, Dr. Vaccaro never considers his education complete. “Offering the finest care means diligently expanding my knowledge through continuing education. How to Choose the Best Dentist in New Jersey
With so many options available, particularly in and around large metropolitan areas, choosing a dentist may sometimes feel like a bit of a daunting task. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to narrow down the list and help you find the best dentist for your needs and goals. The first major step is to conduct a little research. Here are some things to keep in mind while you evaluate your options among dentists:
Experience, Background, and Professional Credentials
One of the best ways you can find out about a prospective dentist’s professional history and experience is to view the practice’s website. Most websites offer detailed biographies of a dentist, often containing information about the doctor’s educational training, credentials and memberships, and experience in the field of dentistry. Seeing that a dentist has the professional requirements necessary to provide basic care is very important, but it’s also a good idea to determine whether the dentist has pursued continuing education and has gone further than just the training necessary to become a practicing dentist. This can indicate whether the dentist places a high priority on consistently honing his or her skills and learning about new advances and treatment techniques.
Testimonials and Reviews from Patients
Reviews of the dentist and testimonials from patients may be found on the practice’s website or elsewhere on various reputable review sites. You can often get an overall idea of the dentist’s capabilities and general approach to care by reading what other patients have to say. This can be helpful in terms of learning about the type of experience that is common among others at the practice and what you can expect.
Before-and-After Photo Gallery
Some practices publish before-and-after photo galleries on their websites that feature the results of specific treatments and procedures. For websites that don’t make these available, you are certainly free to ask the practice directly if they have any before-and-after images that you can view. Seeing the outcomes experienced by other patients can give you an idea of the results for which the prospective dentist is capable of.
Communication Style and Approach to Care
After narrowing your search down a bit and selecting a few dentists whom you think may be the right choice, the last step of your research should involve an in-person appointment. Meeting the prospective dentist allows you to evaluate your rapport and determine whether the doctor is attentive, genuinely concerned about your needs, skillful, compassionate, and worthy of your trust. The dentist should answer all of your questions thoroughly, and you should feel confident in his or her abilities and overall approach to care.
Here at the practice of Dr. Matthew Vaccaro, we understand the need for patients to feel confident and comfortable not only with their dentist’s abilities, but also his general philosophy of care. After all, dental care between doctor and patient is a partnership that will hopefully last many years into the future, and you should always feel that you and your dentist are true collaborators on the road to excellent dental health and a beautiful smile!
