Through his involvement with the Dental Lifeline Network, Dr. Matthew Vaccaro, the head of Vaccaro Aesthetic and Family Dentistry in the Chatham and Green Village area, recently provided free dental care and new partial dentures to a patient in need.
Green Village, NJ – Dr. Matthew Vaccaro, a New Jersey dentist and founder of Vaccaro Aesthetic and Family Dentistry in Green Village, has always had a strong devotion to his community. With the firm belief that all individuals should have access to quality dental care regardless of their financial circumstances, Dr. Vaccaro decided to volunteer his services and expertise with the Dental Lifeline Network, an organization that operates a program designed to help patients in need obtain free dental care that can prove life-changing for many individuals. Through the Dental Lifeline Network’s Donate Dental Services (DDS) program, Dr. Vaccaro says he was able to give one local patient a set of new partial dentures to help her restore her smile and dental function that had been compromised by missing teeth. “I realize how difficult it can be when your smile isn’t something you are proud of. It is equally as frustrating and debilitating when your teeth don’t function properly and comfortably. I was so happy to provide Geralyn with the confidence to smile and the comfort to go about her daily activities, without thinking that something is wrong and having that creep into her subconscious and affect her confidence.”
The Dental Lifeline Network’s DDS program operates in all 50 states and is composed of a network of 15,000 dentists, as well as at least 3,400 dental labs. Originating in 1985, DDS has helped more than 165,600 individuals with donated dental therapies worth over $493 million. Part of the organization’s mission is to help vulnerable people who are elderly, medically fragile, and/or suffer from disabilities obtain access to free dental care that can significantly improve their oral health and their day-to-day lives.
Dr. Vaccaro says, through his affiliation with the Dental Lifeline Network, he was able to help a wonderful patient who needed restorative dental care to replace several missing teeth. “Geralyn sought out Donated Dental Services in hopes that a dentist would help. She had ill-fitting partial dentures and was unable to keep them in to chew as they were painful. Once we saw her, we agreed that we would donate two new partial dentures for her so it would change the way she lives. After a few short visits, Geralyn had new teeth, and was extremely emotional and appreciative.”
According to Dr. Vaccaro, even just a few missing teeth can cause a number of problems for many patients. In addition to noticeable aesthetic and functional effects, missing teeth can create serious oral health concerns and make it more likely that surrounding teeth may shift their position or fall out altogether, ultimately worsening a patient’s condition. By replacing lost teeth and having them treated by a qualified dental professional, Dr. Vaccaro says individuals can achieve results that help maintain their oral health while improving their ability to chew and speak, as well as enhancing the appearance of their smile.
